After indigo, go first; Air India flight diverted to Mumbai due to technical fault

On Saturday, an Air India flight from Hyderabad to Dubai was diverted to Mumbai following a technical snag, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials said, adding that the yellow hydraulic system in the aircraft had malfunctioned.

“Indigo flight 6E-1715 from Kannur to Doha was diverted to Mumbai as a precautionary measure. The operating crew observed a technical problem and diverted the aircraft to Mumbai for necessary maintenance. Passengers were informed about their onward journey. The journey is being accommodated in an alternate aircraft,” IndiGo’s statement read.

Later, DGCA also issued a statement saying that A320/CFM LEAP type IndiGo Airbus and aircraft VT-ISQ were diverted to Mumbai due to yellow hydrogen leak and were being sent to spares.

In another similar incident, a SpiceJet flight from Jeddah to Kozhikode was also diverted to Kochi due to technical reasons. However, all passengers disembarked safely and the carrier informed them.

A SpiceJet spokesperson told ANI that the flight landed in Cochin and all passengers disembarked safely.

The spokesperson said, “The SpiceJet B737 aircraft was operating flight SG-36 (Jeddah-Calicut). But, after take-off from Jeddah, the air traffic control (ATC) informed the pilots about some tire fragments found on the runway.” gave information.” ,
