NOIDA: A 34-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband in front of her two minor children in Noida on Tuesday night after he objected to her habit of drinking alcohol and changing jobs frequently. The accused Ajay Bhadauria (42) was arrested on Wednesday morning, police said.
The couple, originally from Kanpur, lived in Salarpur village with their two children aged 13 and 9 and the woman’s mother.
Police said the couple got into an argument on Tuesday night when the woman, Anita, reprimanded her husband for repeatedly changing jobs and attributed it to his drinking habit. Enraged, police said, Ajay hit her 3-4 times with a kitchen knife and fled the spot.
DCP (Noida) Harish Chander said, “Anita sustained injuries on her neck and hand. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died during treatment.” “The hospital authorities informed the police control room about the woman.”
The accused was booked under section 302 (murder) of the IPC based on the complaint of his mother-in-law and teams were formed to nab him. Additional DCP (Noida) Ashutosh Dwivedi said, “The woman’s mother and her two children were in the house at the time of the crime.”
Ajay, who did strange things, was arrested near Sector 104 on Wednesday morning. During interrogation, he told that he and his wife had frequent fights over his drinking habit. Dwivedi said, “An argument broke out between the couple on Tuesday night also and he killed his wife in a fit of rage.”
The accused was produced in the court from where he was sent to judicial custody. “We have also added Section 3/25 of the Arms Act in the FIR and have managed to recover the knife used in the crime,” the additional DCP said.
