Director Karan Malhotra, who made his directorial debut with Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath, is all praise for the birthday boy. Released in 2012, the film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of that year. In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, the director recalled his Agneepath days with Hrithik and said that he deserves more.
‘Hrithik Roshan deserves more than he is getting’
As Hrithik Roshan turned 48 today, January 10, his fans flooded social media with birthday wishes for him., Yes, everyone is crazy about him. But Karan Malhotra feels that Hrithik deserves more in his career. He said, “Honestly, I want him to get what he deserves, because I think he deserves more than what he is getting as an artiste, an actor and a star. I hope That he will get all that on his birthday.”
Recalling working with him in Agneepath, Karan Malhotra said, “I think Hrithik is a very special kind of artist, he is very unique. He is one of a kind in the sense that when I have Having worked with him in my first film Agneepath, I was nothing but he completely surrendered to my vision despite being a big star. He gave his everything. He had so much honesty to the character. , brought so much vulnerability that no one else could have. And he is someone who loves challenges. You see any of his work, it is full of challenges for him as an artist and I think That they like it. They like to be thrown around, to be open to ideas that are unique and that may be new to them.”
‘Hrithik is a director’s actor and team player’
As an actor, Karan Malhotra loves Hrithik a lot. He said, “On the sets, it was a very cordial relationship. He’s a director’s actor and a team player. He’s excited like a kid, constantly exploring. I think that’s after so many years of work. After all, he’s constantly exploring, his enthusiasm is literally like a kid on set – constantly curious, wanting to explore, trying new things and it’s phenomenal.”
Sharing a secret about the Super 30 actor, the director said, “I think personally, Hrithik has a very funny side that not many have seen. I hope to see more. His one There is also a very relaxed side. When he is on the set, he is working, focused and very serious about his craft. Also, he is a very cool, funny guy, Which I think shows very few people.”
Since 2012, Hrithik has given some great performances. Ask the director how he sees the actor’s development and he said, “Vikas would not be the right word for him. He was always blessed and talented. He is doing films that reflect this and also, featuring Hrithik. It’s that he’s never working for himself or just for the character. He’s always in films that go beyond him and go beyond him, that’s why I think He is very special. I also really loved him in Koi…Mil Gaya and Guzaarish. He was brilliant. As a director, that’s what I love about Hrithik. Apart from his looks, he has a lot more to offer. In both the films, it is just about their performance and craft. Also, they are such diverse roles. That’s why I find these two films of Hrithik very special.”
