New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved PM Modi’s announcement and relevant draft bills to repeal three central agriculture laws, while agriculture unions on Friday to mark one year of their protests against the bills in the capital. Planning a big mobilization along the borders of coincides with the Constitution Day of India.
The Center is expected to introduce the Agriculture Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 on the first day of the upcoming winter session of Parliament, beginning November 29. If Parliament runs smoothly, the process of repeal from both the houses will be completed during the first week.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, ‘It will be our priority to withdraw these three laws in the upcoming session.

These laws are related to giving farmers Freedom to sell one’s produce outside state-regulated ‘mandis’ (agricultural markets), strengthen the mechanism of contract farming and liberalize the stock-holding limit of agricultural produce.
Although Modi had announced his decision to repeal these laws last Friday, Samyukta Kisan Morcha ,SKM), the joint forum of farmer unions decided not to end the protest, saying its other demands were still pending.
To form a larger coalition of farmers and workers, the SKM will on Thursday hold a joint forum of central trade unions to discuss ways to take forward the ongoing agitation in various states.
It will decide on Saturday on the format of protests in the coming months. A farmer leader of the SKM said, “Farmers unions and trade unions will take forward this movement by focusing on their demand for legal guarantee of MSP.” Various farmer unions have been demanding a legal guarantee to MSP for a long time.

SKM noted on Wednesday that the list of legislative business for the upcoming Parliament session has been released Lok Sabha The Secretariat puts the Electricity (Amendment) Bill on its agenda.
It also flagged the Indian Marine Fisheries Bill 2021 in the list, which states that fishermen are also farmers as per India’s National Farmers Policy, 2007 and fish labor unions have been expressing their apprehensions about it.
