Ahead of GIM, BBMP starts cleaning work in Bengaluru

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has conducted a citywide cleanliness drive ahead of the Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) from November 2 to 4.

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has ordered all the BBMP zonal officers to start the campaign in their respective areas. The civic body will clean and develop footpaths, fill potholes, asphalt roads in poor condition and remove illegal flexes in the city.

A senior BBMP official said the campaign is being carried out to ensure that the city looks good ahead of GIM, where dignitaries and investors from across the world will participate.

“The commissioner has conducted inspections to check the work being done in different areas and also asked zone-wise officers to check the problems in their areas and look into them immediately,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the GIM on November 2.
