Ahead of PM Modi’s inauguration, Air Force launched fighter plane on Purvanchal Expressway

The Indian Air Force on Sunday landed the fighter aircraft on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh as part of rehearsals for an airshow on November 16. PM Modi will inaugurate the road on Tuesday.

The Indian Air Force on Sunday landed the fighter aircraft on the Purvanchal Expressway here as part of its rehearsal for an air show on the occasion of its rehearsal on November 16. The inauguration was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Official sources said that the Air Force will do more rehearsals at the airstrip before November 16.

He said 30 fighter jets would demonstrate their might on the newly constructed expressway after Prime Minister Modi dedicated the 340-km-long Purvanchal Expressway to the nation on Tuesday.

According to officials, Prime Minister and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will land on the same airstrip on Tuesday on a C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

When Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Sultanpur to take stock of the preparations for Tuesday’s event, three fighter jets had already circled the airstrip.

Adityanath had said on Friday that the expressway would prove to be the backbone of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

“It will be inaugurated in a grand manner, along with an air show, as the three-and-a-half kilometer long stretch near Sultanpur has been developed as an airstrip for emergency landing of aircraft,” he said.
