AIADMK Secretary (East) A. Anbalagan and Secretary (West) Om Shakti Segar said on various issues on Friday.

At a press conference here, Mr Segar accused Mr Anbalagan of using money to lure some office-bearers of the party’s western unit. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and O. Urging Panneerselvam to resolve the issues, he said, “I will be with those who have the party’s flag and emblem.”

He said that when the two leaders united, Mr. Anbalagan “would not be in the party as he had entered the Sasikala camp after Amma’s demise. [Jayalalithaa], they also supported [Amma Makkal Munneetra Kazagam leader] TTV Dinakaran. He criticized Mr. Anbalagan for keeping quiet when Mr. Panneerselvam’s poster was torn down in front of him at the Uppalam party office.

Mr. Segar is considered a supporter of Mr. Panneerselvam.

Addressing reporters minutes after Mr Segar’s interaction with the media, Mr Anbalagan said he has been with the party for the last 44 years and is committed to its ideology. “Mr. Palaniswami will be elected as party general secretary on July 11. Most office-bearers in Puducherry have supported him. Those who oppose him will be thrown out.”

He also asked Mr. Segar to declare his support for Mr. Palaniswami or Mr. Panneerselvam. Earlier he had said that he would not accept unitary leadership. Now, he says he will support either or Ms. Sasikala or even Mr. Dinakaran. He is not a true worker of the party. I regret bringing only a few people with commercial interest to the party,” Mr. Anbalagan said.

He said that Mr. Panneerselvam has weakened the fight of AIADMK against DMK by praising Chief Minister MK Stalin. He said there would be no place in the AIADMK for leaders who had a secret agreement with the DMK.
