AICTE will stop the scholarship of those PG students who left the course midway

By writing to all its affiliated universities and colleges, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Information has been sought about the students of postgraduate scholarship who have left their course in the middle. AICTE will stop the scholarship distribution for such students.

In the letter, the council said that some institutions delay in giving information about such students and in the meantime fellowship is issued, which is not allowed. Institutions will have to update about such students on the online portal. If they face any problem during the process, they have to mail the details on the letterhead of the institute to pgscholarship@aicte.india.org.

student Those who qualify for GATE, GPAT, CEET and take admission in regular PG courses are eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400 for a period of 24 months in postgraduate programs approved by AICTE. Candidates enrolled in any dual degree integrated program are also eligible for this scholarship from the ninth semester onwards, provided they score at least 8 CGPA.

Students wishing to take advantage of this scholarship program must be enrolled in courses such as Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Architecture, Master of Pharmacy, or Master of Design. Students selected for the PG scholarship program have to complete at least 8 to 10 hours of research, teaching activities per week. These tasks are assigned to them by the institute. The scholarship is released monthly based on the candidate’s academic performance and adherence to AICTE norms.

During the scholarship programme, candidates are entitled to certain benefits such as 15 days casual leave and a maximum of 30 days medical leave. In addition, there is provision for maternity and paternity leave (when applicable) as per the norms laid down by the Government of India.

The application process for enrollment in the PG Scholarship Program for the academic year 2021-22 is still underway and interested students can apply online at the portal – pgscholarship.aicte-india.org. The last date to create login on the portal is December 31 and students have to complete the final application process by January 15, 2022.
