A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AIIMS-Bibinagar and Center for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) on Wednesday by the directors of the respective institutions to carry out collaborative academic and research programmes.
The collaboration will enable DNA-based diagnosis and provide a full spectrum of mutations responsible for various genetic diseases by looking at the DNA sequence of any patient or newborn. It will provide early diagnosis of genetic diseases and help in preventive health care using medication, or through lifestyle modification.
Vikas Bhatia, Director, AIIMS-Bibinagar and Dr K Thangaraj, Director, CDFD were also present on the occasion.
