AIMIM Muzaffarnagar district president, party workers booked for violation of model code, covid norms

Muzaffarnagar, Jan 11: AIMIM’s Muzaffarnagar district president and dozens of party workers have been booked for allegedly violating the model code of conduct and coronavirus norms by holding a public meeting here on Tuesday. SHO Anand Dev Mishra said that Intazar and 23 other party workers have been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code, Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Control Act for holding a public meeting at Iniyajupura village of Kotwali police station. There was no public meeting but party workers had gathered for tickets to contest the assembly elections in the state. The Election Commission has banned any kind of rally or campaign meeting till January 15 for the state assembly elections. According to the FIR registered in this regard, the public meeting was organized without permission and there was also violation of health protocols by AIMIM workers.
