Air Marshal Sandeep Singh takes over as Vice President of IAF

The Integrated Defense Staff and Western Air Command also got new chiefs, as well as a new chief hydrographer for the government

Air Marshal Sandeep Singh took over as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) on Friday. Among other appointments, the Integrated Defense Staff and Western Air Command also got a new chief and a new Chief Hydrographer for the government.

“An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Air Marshal Singh was commissioned into the flying wing of the IAF as a fighter pilot in December 1983. He is an Experimental Test Pilot and a Qualified Flight Instructor.” He has over 4400 hours of flying experience in piloting and experimental test-flight of various types of fighter aircraft.

Air Marshal BR Krishna took over as the Chief of Integrated Defense Staff to the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC). He was commissioned as a fighter pilot in 1983 and is a qualified flying instructor and experimental test pilot. The Air Force said he has flown a variety of fighter aircraft, transport aircraft and helicopters and has over 5,000 hours of flying experience, including operational, instructional and test flying.

Air Marshal Amit Dev took over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Western Air Command.

He was commissioned into the flying wing of the Indian Air Force in December 1982 as a fighter pilot and has nearly 2500 hours of operational flying experience on a variety of fighter aircraft, the statement said.

Vice Admiral Adhir Arora took over as Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India from Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar, who retired from active service on 30 September.

A Navy statement said that Vice Admiral Arora was commissioned into the Navy’s executive branch in 1985 and as a specialist hydrographer, he has conducted hydrographic surveys in India and the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
