Kumar further said that due to pollution, children are also facing problems in brain, lungs, heart and other organs.

Talking about air pollution and the measures taken by the government to combat it, Kumar said, “Installing smog towers is a huge waste of public money and a serious mistake. The answer lies in preventing the air from getting polluted.” Is.”

“Pollution has killed more people than COVID, but it has not been given the kind of attention it deserves,” Kumar said.

Kumar also said that some stringent measures need to be taken to control pollution. “Study burning is one of the major areas which should be given priority,” he said.

The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) said on Sunday that the air quality in Delhi remained in the ‘severe’ category with an AQI at 436.

Pollution levels were also worrying in the National Capital Region (NCR), namely Noida and Gurugram. Noida recorded an AQI in the ‘hazardous’ category at 575, while the air quality in Gurugram was in the upper end of the ‘severe’ category at 478.
