During the same period, Noida’s Sector 125 and Sector 1 stations recorded AQIs of 282 and 292 in the ‘poor’ category. Its Sector 116 station recorded an AQI of 341, while the Sector 62 station remained the most polluted with an AQI of 421, which falls in the ‘severe’ category.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the wind speed is likely to remain low for the next three days leading to reduced ventilation and deterioration in air quality but it will remain in the ‘very poor’ category. , Experts said that the present partly cloudy sky and low mixed layer height are preventing efficient dispersal of pollutants.
