Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has increased its direct stake in Indus Towers held by its wholly owned subsidiary Natal Infrastructure. In another development, Airtel has also announced the launch of its state-of-the-art 5G services in Itanagar.
Airtel Raised its stake in Indus Towers by acquiring another 23.01% — subsequently taking its total stake to 47.95%.
Bharti Airtel has acquired 23.01% stake in Indus Towers from Natal, which directly owns 47.95% of the mobile tower firm, reported PTI.
Earlier, Airtel through its mentioned subsidiary held 24.94% of Indus Towers.
Also, in its regulatory filing on Saturday, Airtel announced that Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to build out its network and complete the rollout. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will be able to enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost till the rollout becomes more widespread. Currently operating in Itanagar in H-Sector, Chandan Nagar, Sanki Park, Doni Polo Vidya Bhavan, BB Plaza, P-Sector, Zero Point, Julie Basti, Bank Tiniali, Gohpur Tiniali, Secretariat. Airtel will expand its network and make its services available across the city in the coming times.
Airtel’s 5G Plus is expected to strengthen the entire portfolio of services offered by Airtel. Additionally, it will allow superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and much more. With this launch, India will get a boost in economic growth as Airtel 5G+ will revolutionize education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility and logistics.
The filing said that over the past year, Airtel has demonstrated the power of 5G, with several powerful use cases that will transform the way customers live and do business.
Airtel shares closed on BSE On Friday it was up 2% at 793.05. Indus Towers out of stock Marginal gain of Rs 143.35 on the exchange.
