Two gamers used mid-segment smartphones connected to the 3500 MHz high-capacity spectrum band and experienced speeds of over 1 Gbps and latency of 10 milliseconds. These phenomenal results delivered through 5G could completely revolutionize the cloud gaming landscape. Talking about the incident, he said, “We were completely blown away. It was a high-end PC and console-quality gaming experience on a smartphone. We can confidently say that 5G will indeed unlock the online gaming landscape in India and create opportunities to create and publish games outside India and bring a lot of talented gamers from small towns into the mainstream. ”

As the first gamers to experience Airtel 5G and cloud gaming, both are excited about the global innovations coming to India. He added that cloud gaming will certainly level the playing field. How will 5G revolutionize cloud gaming for consumers?

Considering the speed and latency levels that 5G can deliver, it is set to fuel innovations in the mobile gaming industry. With low latency and ping, and practically no lag, 5G will make cloud gaming as seamless as streaming a movie or TV show from an OTT platform to your phone. As cloud gaming eliminates the need to download games to the device or use specialized gaming hardware, anyone with a smartphone and 5G connection will be able to engage in real-time gaming with other people around the world.

In fact, both Mortal and Mamba noted that while gaming is accepted as a de facto sport in many countries, this is not the case in India yet. The country already has a gaming base of 400+ million, which is expected to exceed 500 million by next year. A vast youth population and increased smartphone penetration provide immense opportunities for the gaming industry to grow into a $2.4 billion market. With the addition of technologies like Airtel 5G and other infrastructure, India may soon develop an ecosystem that allows young gamers to turn their passion into a career.

Randeep Sekhon, CTO, Bharti Airtel, said: “Cloud gaming will be one of the biggest use cases for 5G, thanks to the combination of high speed and low latency. Having delivered India’s first 5G demo on a test network, we are looking forward to this. Thrilled to host an exciting 5G gaming session. Imagine enjoying real-time gaming on the go with someone sitting in another part of the world. This is the beginning of an exciting digital future that Airtel is bringing to its customers. Will enable as we prepare to roll out 5G in India.
