Dutch news reports said on Wednesday that top Ajax attacking midfielder Dusan Tadic was injured after robbers attacked him outside his Amsterdam home.

National broadcaster NOS said the apparently targeted attack on the star Serbian player in late July was the latest in robberies on Dutch celebrities.

The daily tabloid De Telegraaf said two weeks ago Tadik was hit by two men wearing motorcycle helmets while exiting his car outside his home in the south of the Dutch capital.

“It seems they wanted to rob him of his valuable wristwatch,” the paper said.

“After a brief chase, Tadik got involved in a scuffle, in which he managed to open a helmet visor and hit the robber,” the paper said.

Tadik then ran to a nearby cafe and called the police.

The newspaper said the robbers fled and that no one has been arrested.

A few days later, as Ajax Amsterdam daily Het Parul reported, a plaster was seen on the footballer’s hand during a season opener against PSV.

The attack on Tadick is the latest of such attacks on celebrities and sports stars.

Last year, former PSV attacker Aron Jahvi and his family were tied up and money and property looted. Who had been tied up and beaten two years ago during a robbery at his home in Uden near Eindhoven.
