Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ release postponed due to surge in COVID-19 cases

The action-drama, directed by H Vinoth, was initially scheduled for Pongal 2022 release

Ajith’s upcoming action-drama release Valimai has been postponed indefinitely.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 infections and complications caused by the Omron version, the makers have decided not to release the film for Pongal 2022 as planned initially.

“We wanted to see the audience and fans happy and happy in theatres, during every single moment. Also, their safety and well being has always been at the fore of our decisions. In view of the huge increase in COVID infections around the world, and following the rules of the authorities, we have decided to postpone his release. Valimai Till the situation normalises,” producer Boney Kapoor posted in a note on Twitter.

“Get vaccinated, wear a mask and stay safe,” the message said.

Valimai Like joins the list of other giants RRR, Radhe Shyam Hindi remake of Aur jersey to postpone its theatrical release.

The news will come as a shock to Ajith’s fans, who were already disappointed due to several delays in the production and impending release of the film.

In Valimai, the actor is playing the role of a police officer who goes up against a crooked biker gang. The film also stars Bollywood actors Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya, Bani, Sumitra, Achyunth Kumar, Yogi Babu, Raj Ayyappa, Pugaz and others.

Been making for two years, Valimai Directed by H Vinoth, who previously worked with Ajith Kumar Nerkonda Parvai and is known for films like Sathuranga Vettai And theran learning ondru, Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music.
