Kanpur: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav On Wednesday slammed the Yogi government for its handling of Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi and urged it to “consider that the father of the accused has said that his son was of ‘unsound’ mental health and ‘unsteady’ state of mind”.
“Murtaza’s father has said that his son has a mental problem. I think this aspect should be looked into. BJP is the party which unnecessarily drags the matter,” Akhilesh told reporters in Kannauj.
He also accused the BJP of creating disturbances in the Panchayat and Legislative Council elections and called the saffron party a serial killer of democracy.
“BJP is the serial killer of democracy. How votes are looted in a democracy, BJP has become an expert party. Many comrades in Kannauj could not fill the form. In Etah, the police chief and the DM together did not allow the form to be filled. Farrukhabad K. Same happened with friends.
He said that ever since the BJP government was formed, interest in banks is decreasing continuously, while jewelery is being looted from lockers (in Kanpur).
On the rising prices of petrol and diesel, the SP President said that what he had said is happening. Akhilesh said, ‘I had said that the prices of petrol and diesel will increase, the same thing happened after the elections. Along with the effect of inflation, unemployment is also taking a toll on those who commit suicide.
Akhilesh further said that bulldozers are being run on those who dare to stop the government.
