Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia, who was hospitalized earlier this week, passed away on Wednesday morning.
Kumar, 53, shared a statement on Twitter and paid tribute to his mother, who was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hiranandani Hospital. The cause of his death is not yet known.

“She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the core of my existence. My mother Mrs. Aruna Bhatia left this world peacefully this morning to be reunited with her father in another world, “Bellbottom” The actor tweeted.
“I respect your prayers as my family and I are going through this. Om Shanti,” he said.
Last evening, Kumar took to the microblogging site to thank well-wishers for praying for his mother’s good health.
The actor left for the country on Monday after his mother was hospitalised. He was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Cinderella’ in the UK.
