All cars coming to India this month: Mahindra Scorpio N to Kia EV6 – Times of India

Five months into 2022 and we’ve already seen several new car launches and some big unveilings, but there’s certainly no slowing down. The month of June will be crucial for the Indian automobile industry, as there are a slew of cars either to be launched in the coming months, or at least to be unveiled ahead of the launch.
Here is a list of all the cars that are set to make their debut in the country this month –
Volkswagen Virtue
The Volkswagen Vertus is set to be launched in India on June 9 as the successor to the Vento. The C-segment sedan shares its base with the koda Slavia, and will be available with 1.0-litre three-pot TSI (115 PS/178 Nm) and 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI (150 PS/250 Nm) engines. , is mated to a 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT (1.0-litre), and 7-speed DSG (1.5-litre) transmissions.

On the feature front, the Virtus Wireless will come equipped with a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, cruise control, etc.
Mahindra Scorpio-N
Mahindra is all set to launch a new generation variant of the Scorpio, known as the Scorpio-N (codenamed Z101) in the Indian market. Claimed to be the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’, the Scorpio-N will be launched as a more premium alternative to the current-gen Scorpio, which will be rebadged as the Scorpio Classic.

The Scorpio-N will likely be offered with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines as the XUV700, but in a slightly different condition, both manual and automatic transmissions will be offered with optional AWD. Features on offer will include an 8-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a sunroof, and so on.
Kia EV6
The Kia EV6 is all set to go on sale in India tomorrow i.e. June 2, which is the company’s first full-electric vehicle in the country. Only 100 units of the car are being brought as CBUs, with an estimated starting price of Rs 65 lakh for the RWD variant and Rs 70 lakh for the AWD model.

Hyundai Venue Facelift
Hyundai is currently working on introducing a mid-life facelift for the Venue sub-compact SUV, which is expected to be launched in the country this month. The new Venue will get a series of styling updates, including a new front grille and updated headlights, new alloy wheel design as well as new wraparound LED taillights.

Additional features may include a larger infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, new connected features, etc. No changes are expected on the 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The price of 2022 Hyundai Venue may start from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Maruti Suzuki Brezza
One of the best-selling subcompact SUVs in India, the Vitara Brezza is all set to receive a generational update, with Maruti Suzuki deciding to do away with the prefix ‘Vitara’ from the name of the car. Apart from the name, the exterior design and cabin of the SUV will also be new.

Spy shots have suggested that the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will be equipped with a 9-inch floating infotainment system, a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, a new instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, Suzuki Connect, a 360-degree camera. As well as an electric sunroof, making it the first Maruti car to be offered with this feature.
Citroen C3
Citroen is all set to introduce its second offering in India, which is the C3 tallboy hatch. Inspired by SUVs, the Citroen C3 will serve as a direct rival with other similarly priced cars like Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Tata Punch, among others.

The C3 sports Citroen’s signature quirky styling, which includes a split-headlamp design and unique orange accents around the fog lamps, with plastic body cladding all around. The upcoming Citroen will get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual air conditioning, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.
Hyundai Creta Rivals Toyota SUV
Toyota is all set to enter the lucrative mid-size SUV segment with a new offering (codenamed D22) to take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushak and Volkswagen Taigun. Rumors suggest that the Toyota SUV will use a self-charging hybrid system, similar to what we recently saw on the Honda City e: HEV Hybrid.

To keep the cost under control, the SUV will be based on a localized version of Toyota’s DNGA platform. Maruti Suzuki will also use the platform to introduce its own mid-size SUV, however, the two SUVs will not be badge engineered like the Baleno-Glanza and Vitara Brezza-urban cruiser. Instead, the Toyota and Maruti Suzuki SUVs will feature different styling.
