All pending vacancies in central universities will be filled in 18 months: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that all pending vacancies, including those from the reserved category, in various central universities will be filled in the next 12-18 months. During the discussion on the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, he said that many vacancies are reserved for the deprived sections of the society.

Efforts are on to fill up all the pending vacancies reserved for SC/ST/OBC and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in Central Universities, he added. A special drive has been launched and the recruitment will be done in mission mode, he said, adding that the pending vacancies will be filled in the next one and a half years.
