Allottees of vacant plots will get time till December. Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: In a major relief to the allottees of hundreds of residential and industrial plots in the city, the government has extended the date of cancellation of lease deeds for vacant plots till December. In addition, the residential category has been kept out of the purview of the ordinance introduced in August 2020. In Noida, the move will benefit around 1,200 allottees, of whom 900 have residential plots.
“On whose recommendation is the object of the ordinance amended by the government on 7 January” Noida Authority, was to promote and encourage industrial development in the city,” said the CEO Ritu Maheshwari, “So we asked the government to keep residential and other categories out of it. We will send the final notice to the allottees before the deadline and warn them about the cancellation.
The government’s earlier order had received a sharp response from individuals holding residential plots, especially farmers who were given land under 5% population resettlement schemes.
Officials said that industrial and IT plot holders who have been issued cancellation notices have been given more relief due to the pandemic, seeking more time to arrange funds. “The allottees have already paid and it does not feel good to cancel their lease in a hurry. We want to give them enough time to complete the work and commission the unit. The idea is to generate employment and bring investment,” said an official.
Soon after the ordinance was promulgated in August 2020, the authority had identified 3,766 vacant plots in the city. However, most of them were residential plots. Officials said less than 250 industrial or IT plots have been left vacant.
