The action was taken after Cheranmahadevi sub-collector Mohammad Shabbir Alam, who is probing the allegation of torture and recording the statements of the victims. “Since these three inspectors allegedly failed to stop the ASP from torturing the suspects and did not alert their superiors about the same, they have been placed in vacancy reserve.
