Amit Shah congratulates Matua community on Matua Maha Mela 2023

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on March 19 congratulated the Matua community of West Bengal on the occasion of Matua Maha Mela 2023 and expressed hope that this festival will inspire people with the wisdom of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur Ji.

The fair is being organized on the occasion of the 212th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur, the founder of the Matua sect.

“With a vibrant display of the heritage of the Matua community, #MatuaMahamela 2023 begins today. My heartiest greetings to the pilgrims of the religious festival.

He tweeted, “I wish that the celebration of 212th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur ji inspires people with his wisdom.”

Around 45 lakh people are estimated to visit during the week to seek the blessings of the sect’s founder at the fair organized by the All India Matua Federation.

It is being organized at Shridham Thakurnagar, Thakurbari in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal.

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal visited the fair on Saturday.
