Gorakhpur: Chief Minister raising the heat for the Samajwadi Party (SP) ahead of the 2022 state assembly elections Yogi Adityanath announced on Saturday that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation of the university in Azamgarh On November 13 and will also address a huge rally on the occasion. Azamgarh is the parliamentary constituency of SP President Akhilesh Yadav.
Yogi was addressing the zonal party presidents and zonal party in-charges of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Saturday.
Motivating party workers, Yogi said: “Azamgarh ensured victory of two CMs (SP’s Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav) but today itself is facing an identity crisis. We are going to give a university to Azamgarh and by whom will its foundation be laid? Boundless Shah ji on November 13.”
He also appealed to the party workers to start preparations for a massive rally to be held between 12.30 pm and 3 pm on the occasion and said that “this place will also get the gift of an airport and expressway”.
Attacking the SP, the CM raised the issue of firing on kar sevaks in Ayodhya on 30 October 1990. “Every Indian citizen condemned the firing. In the name of secularism, those breaking the social net either kept silence or adopted the policy of appeasement. Yogi asked the party workers to inform the people about the changes that have taken place in the state after 2017 when the BJP came to power. “Earlier the chief minister used to build houses for himself, but we have built houses for 43 lakh people. Equality, earlier only selected districts were getting electricity, but now all districts are getting it without any discrimination.
Motivating the party workers, the Chief Minister also mentioned the number of party representatives in Parliament, Vidhan Sabha, Municipal bodies, Gram Panchayats etc. “There has been a huge increase in the numbers after the 2017 BJP victory in the state,” he said. .
Giving the victory mantra to the party workers, he asked them to deploy at least 100 workers at each booth saying, “If you win the booth, you win the election”.
The CM praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that “abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and construction of Ram temple became possible because of his able leadership”.
He further added, “He has not taken a single leave for the last 7.5 years and has worked without bowing or stopping.”
The CM also asked party workers and 16 lakh officers and employees of the state to celebrate Diwali with the needy, “because there is no fun in celebrating alone”. “Find the beneficiaries of welfare schemes and give them diyas, sweets, torans and firearms to the children.”
He cited the example of Bhadohi district where 10.50 lakh out of 15 lakh people are beneficiaries of government schemes. He said that 64 lakh students are getting scholarships in the state.
Giving examples of the work done during the coronavirus pandemic, Yogi said, “The party’s mantra is service. This has been proved by the central and state governments, the BJP and the RSS in times of crisis. The arrangements we had made during the Corona wave in the governments of SP, BSP and Congress would have been impossible.
The Chief Minister also highlighted two pre-2017 incidents, pointing to the improvement in the law and order situation in the state after the BJP came to power. “I had to go to Azamgarh when a differently-abled girl was raped and an FIR was not registered. In Gorakhpur, a mafia also tried to capture the house of a famous personality, Purushottam Das in Aryanagar.
He also recalled the 2008 incident in Azamgarh when a student council worker was murdered at Shibli College.
