Amit Shah’s exclusive interview to News18: Registering an FIR in UP was a big deal; No more ‘Bahubali’

Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah said in an exclusive interview to Group Editor-in-Chief of Network 18, Rahul Joshi that dacoity, loot, kidnapping, rape and land grabbing decreased in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi Adityanath government. Is.

Unlike the previous Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government, Amit Shah He said that once registration of FIR was also a big deal in Uttar Pradesh and people had to move from cities like Meerut to Delhi for better future.

“I have traveled by road in every district and block of UP from May 2013 till now. I can tell you that once upon a time getting an FIR in UP was a big deal. When SP came to power, people of one community thought that they were given the power to do as they wish. In western UP, buffaloes were taken from people’s homes and farmers could not do anything. I have actually seen that situation. Many people shifted from Meerut to Delhi so that their children could study. People were migrating from Meerut. Gangsters used to occupy land worth crores of residents,” Shah said in the interview.

Giving numbers highlighting better law and order situation in the state, Amit Shah said, “Later”. Yogi Yes came to power, robbery reduced by 72%. Looting reduced by 62%. There has been a 39% reduction in kidnappings. Rape has reduced by 50%. This is a very important issue in Uttar Pradesh.”

Law and order is one of the major pitches issued by the ruling BJP Uttar Pradesh Election 2022, Shah said that together poor welfareDevelopment and better administration, law and order is one of the biggest issues on which people support BJP in the state.

“This is the only time Azam Khan, Ateeq Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari are in jail. The people of Uttar Pradesh at one time did not even imagine that those who harassed them would be in jail. Today people live in peace. nobody is here ‘bahubali’ And the mafia in any district, something that was previously a permanent feature. The property worth Rs 200 crore that was grabbed by the gangsters has now been confiscated from them. This is a huge achievement and people are accepting our work.”

Amit Shah said during the interview that women’s safety has also improved in Uttar Pradesh under BJP. “In Kanpur, I have seen girls taking to the streets on scooties in the middle of the night, and I am very happy for them. I saw it for myself from my hotel window. This is a huge achievement and people are accepting our work. And it is getting translated into votes.”

Shah also hit out at the Samajwadi Party and the BSP for withdrawing the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) cases during their respective tenures.

“The issue of law and order is important. And now PM Modi has also spoken on terrorism. He spoke in Hardoi on the Ahmedabad blast case in which 38 accused have been sentenced to death. He said that these terrorists were released from jail during the SP rule. 11 such cases happened during the SP and BSP era when UAPA and POTA cases were withdrawn. What do SP and BSP have to say about security in the country? They have to answer to the public,” Amit Shah said.

“After withdrawing UAPA and POTA, who are they helping? And why? For their vote bank? Do other people not have the right to vote? Those who are suffering don’t have vote? This is the sentiment across Uttar Pradesh.”

The Union Home Minister said that the Congress also withdrew such cases during its rule.

He said, ‘Even during the Congress rule, there are many examples of this all over the country. Because Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister (of Gujarat) at that time, this matter (Ahmedabad blast case) could have been resolved. There are many explosion cases you can analyze. Very few people have got justice or judgment has come. The police acted efficiently and came out with evidence. The court also appreciated the evidence found by him and pronounced the verdict. The behavior of SP, BSP and other parties is clearly visible.
