The body of a 32-year-old doctor was found under suspicious circumstances in the basement of his apartment on Saturday night in Raghuram Colony under Anakapalli Town police station area. Based on preliminary investigation, the police is treating it as a case of suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Koilada Shivakumar, a doctor from a private hospital.

According to reports, Shiv Kumar had returned home after duty on Saturday. After some time, he reportedly left the house and around 9 pm, some residents found Shiv Kumar lying in a pool of blood with serious head injuries in the basement of his apartment and informed the police.

Anakapalli (Town) Inspector L. Bhaskar Rao along with his team inspected the crime scene.

He said, ‘In the preliminary investigation, it seems to be a case of suicide. Shiv Kumar must have committed suicide by jumping from the apartment due to depression as he did not succeed in improving his medical practice apart from some personal issues,” said Mr. Bhaskar Rao.
