Andhra Pradesh: BJP plans padyatra in September to ‘expose failures’ of YSRCP government.

BJP national secretary Y. Satya Kumar has said that his party has resolved to oust one Hiking: It is yet to be decided, saying whether it will be a statewide campaign or divided on the basis of zones, to ‘expose the failures’ of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government from September 25.

Informing about the decisions taken at the meeting of party office-bearers here on Sunday, he told the media, “We intend to stay at an equal distance from the corrupt and family-centric TDP and YSRCP.”

Mr. Satya Kumar said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP have no right to talk of development.

“Andhra Pradesh has not seen any development during the YSRCP regime. However, the Chief Minister presented a rosy picture about it in the plenary session of the party. He kept silent on the fact that 60 to 90 per cent of the amount spent by the state government on various schemes comes from the Centre, Mr. Y. Satya Kumar said.

Referring to the resignation tendered by YS Vijayalakshmi from the post of honorary president of YSRCP, the BJP leader said, “It is reminiscent of the informal manner in which the then Indian National Congress President Sitaram Kesri was ousted by Sonia Gandhi.”

Mr. Satya Kumar said that public disillusionment with the YSRCP regime was evident from the heavy security arrangements made during the Chief Minister’s visit to his native constituency Pulivendula.

“YSRCP had supported many laws made in Parliament but back home protested against them. All this speaks volumes about the double standards of the party,” he said.

The BJP leader challenged the chief minister to prove the allegation that there was huge corruption in the development of Amaravati and implementation of the Polavaram project.

BJP national general secretary Daggubati Purandeswari, national executive member Kanna Lakshminarayana and Andhra Pradesh unit president Somu Veeraraju participated in the meeting.
