Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother YS Vijayamma today resigned as the honorary president of the YSR Congress Party. Announcing her decision to step down, she said that she will always be close to Jagan Mohan Reddy. “As a mother, I will always be close to Jagan.”

He decided to leave the YSR Congress to stand beside his daughter Sharmila, who is now leading the YSR Telangana Party in the neighboring state. “Sharmila is fighting a lone battle in Telangana to carry forward her father’s ideals. I have to support her. I was in a dilemma whether I could be a member of two political parties (in two states).
