Andhra Pradesh: TDP sees trick to dilute Viveka murder case

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday alleged that attempts were being made to dilute the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

At a press conference, TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was less interested in knowing about his uncle’s killers. “People across the state are eager to know the outcome of the CBI probe in this case, but the chief minister seems most apathetic,” he said.

The TDP leader said all important departments and agencies have been weakened under the “misrule” of the YSR Congress party. He alleged that the police department has lost all its powers as its personnel have been made pawns in the hands of the ruling party people.

He said there are clear similarities in the murder cases of former TDP minister Paritala Ravindra and YS Vivekananda. “The successive deaths of Srinivasa Reddy, Gangi Reddy and Govardhan Reddy in the Viveka murder case are similar to the murders of Moddu Seenu, Dr. Sambasiva Rao, Om Prakash and Patola Govardhan Reddy in the Paritala Ravindra case,” he said.

The TDP leader said doubts were being raised whether those involved in the killing of the TDP leader were also behind the “deaths” of those linked to Vivekananda’s murder.
