Andhra Pradesh: TDP takes Yerragondapalem incident to the notice of the Governor

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has submitted a memorandum to Governor SA Nazeer, seeking his intervention in ensuring maintenance of law and order, upholding democracy and protecting the Constitution in the state.

The TDP has also requested the governor to direct the police to arrest the party’s national president N.K. Conduct an impartial inquiry into the recent attack on Chandrababu Naidu at Yeragondapalem in Prakasam district and ensure that the culprits are brought to book without fear or favour.

TDP Politburo members Varla Ramaiah, Kollu Ravindra and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, MLC P. Ashok Babu and former minister P. Sujatha submitted a memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

In the memorandum, the TDP leader said that prior information was given to the police and revenue officials of Prakasam district about Mr.

TDP leaders alleged that the local police completely neglected to provide adequate security to Mr. Naidu and miserably failed to prevent the attack and maintain law and order.

He alleged that Mr. Suresh not only violated the Constitution but also behaved in a manner that was not befitting his stature.

“It is clear that the minister instigated the mob and led the attack on Mr. Naidu. The minister should be immediately removed from the post and legal action should be taken against him.
