Andhra Pradesh: YSRCP government has ruined TIDCO housing scheme, alleges TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on May 18 (Thursday) said that he aims to provide his own house to every poor person in the state.

Interacting with beneficiaries of the Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) at Pendurthi near here as part of his three-day tour to Anakapalle and Vizianagaram districts, Mr Naidu said it was former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao who provided pucca houses to the poor. Giving program was started. Mr Naidu said the TDP government then launched the TIDCO housing scheme and spent around Rs 30,000 crore during its tenure.

He said that out of the 7.5 lakh houses sanctioned, about 3.15 lakh houses had been completed by the time the TDP was voted out of power in 2019.

“The design of Tidco houses was carefully planned. Internal roads of 40 to 60 feet were planned. But now Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reduced the width of the roads to 12 feet. Can’t pass. The government has ruined the entire scheme prepared by the TDP government, and is extorting money from the beneficiaries in the name of one-time settlement,” alleged Mr. Naidu.

“Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy has completed four years as Chief Minister, but only five houses have been completed so far under the housing scheme,” said Mr. Naidu.
