As far as the ‘injustice to farmers’ in Amaravati is concerned, he said, the Kisan Morcha will stand by them in the fight for their legitimate rights.

Mr Chahar said that the Congress-led UPA government at the Center could not implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee. “The BJP-led NDA government has helped increase the income of farmers through a multi-pronged approach to the issues faced by farmers. The focus is on taking R&D results from laboratories to farms.

Mr Chahar further said that Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will soon visit Andhra Pradesh and throw light on the work done by the Central Government in the last eight years.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken the bold step of abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and helped Kashmiri Pandits lead a peaceful life.

“A grand Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya to fulfill the wishes of Hindus across the world. Overall, India has become a global power under the leadership of Mr. Modi. No stone should be left unturned in telling people what is the good that BJP has done.

BJP Andhra Pradesh unit president Somu Veeraraju said both the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) governments have betrayed the farmers by reneging on their commitments.

“Farmers are being exploited by the civil supplies department and rice mill owners. The government is not doing anything to help the farmers. Many issues making farming a loss-making deal remain unresolved,” he said.

He said BJP National President JP Nadda will visit Andhra Pradesh and give a roadmap of the rank and file of the party in the near future.
