Android apps now available for more Windows users – Times of India

few months ago, Microsoft started rolling out Amazon App Store which allows users to run Android Apps on windows 11 Operating System. This feature was available only to users who are part of windows Insider’s beta channel. Now, the company has also rolled out the App Store for users who have enrolled in the Window Insider Release Preview channel. This means that Microsoft may soon release the feature to all eligible users. The new operating system’s ability to run Android apps was revealed by the company in June last year.
Microsoft has partnered with Amazon and popular app developers to create 50 apps for Windows Insiders to test and verify across a broad set of hardware. If you want to try out the Android app on Windows 11, the first thing you need to do is join the Windows Insider program. You will need to set your PC’s region to the United States and to access the Amazon App Store, you will need an Amazon account that is US-based.
Also, you need to keep in mind some system requirements apart from the base requirements of Windows 11. According to Microsoft, your PC should have at least 8GB of RAM, SSD with 8th generation Intel Core i3, AMD Ryzen 3000 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c processor or higher. If you’re not part of Windows Insider, you can run Android apps on Windows 11 via the Windows Subsystem for Android.
The company claims that running Android apps and games on Windows 11 will make you feel familiar and you can easily run these apps side by side with the help of the new Snap Layout feature. You can also pin them to your Start menu or taskbar and interact with them via mouse, touch, or pen input. Android apps are also integrated into Alt+Tab and Task View for faster back-and-forth between the most used apps. You can view notifications from Android App Notifications in Action Center or share your clipboard between Windows apps and Android apps.
Google has also started rolling out Google Play Games app for Windows. The app will allow users to play Android games directly on their PC. As of now, the app is limited to beta users in Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan, but the company is expected to release the app to more users in the coming months.
