Former world No. 1 Andy Murray was disappointed after being kicked out of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. On Friday, July 15, the 35-year-old lost 5-7, 4-6 to Alexander Bublik of Russia in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Bublik broke Murray’s serve three times and reached the semi-finals at the grass-court championship with Australia’s Jason Kubler. Back in June, Murray also stumbled at Wimbledon 2022 after losing to America’s John Isner in a thrilling four-setter on center court.

Murray said he was not happy with the loss at Wimbledon and his final appearance. The veteran said he missed a huge opportunity to beat Bublik.

“Obviously, I wish the results were a little better. I felt like I had a good chance [advancing] Here. If I had gone through Bublik, it would have potentially been a good opportunity in the semi-finals. But it is important for me to feel good in my body and play a lot of matches.”

“There were some good moments in the grass-court season, but also some tough ones. Today’s match and the loss at Wimbledon were disappointing and disappointing for me, but then I also had my best win in a while in Stuttgart.

“So a little up and down, but a little bit of progress overall, and I’ll try and keep that going through the hard-court summer,” Murray said.

Murray has already taken part in 13 tournaments this season without a break. The seasoned campaigner is currently looking to step up his game.
