Announcement of film ‘Garuda’ on Afghan rescue crisis

The film ‘Garuda’, based on real events from the Afghan rescue crisis, was announced on Wednesday. to come John abraham Ajay Kapoor, the producer of the starrer ‘Attack’, has joined hands with Subhash Kale for ‘Garuda’, a film based on the Afghan rescue crisis. Other details related to the director and the cast are yet to be announced. Inspired by real events, ‘Garuda’ presents a fictionalized depiction of a rescue mission in Afghanistan, based on the story of an officer of the Garuda Commando Force, a special forces unit of the Indian Air Force.

The film will mark the second collaboration between Ajay and Subhash after working together on ‘Roy’ and ‘All Is Well’ which released in 2015.

Excited about the collaboration, Ajay shared, “Subhash and I go a long way and have been friends for years, when he approached me for Garuda, I was really hooked to the script and immediately came on board. Gaya. The film tells an inspiring, patriotic story with a strong emotional connect, we are looking forward to take the story forward in a big way to give due justice to the story.”

Subhash also shared that ‘Garuda’ is a very special project for him as he has been working on developing such a script for a long time. “I am glad that the film is finally coming to fruition with a brilliant producer like Ajay Kapoor. This is my passion project and I want to give it the best possible treatment, we are aiming to give the film an international look by taking inspiration from the original. -events of life,” he said.

The makers also released a motion poster on the social media handle on Wednesday. Giving an insight into the film, the motion poster features the theme song ‘Mera Bharat Hai Mahan’ composed by Ravi Basrur, who has also composed the film’s background score. Produced by Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale under the banner of Ajay Kapoor Productions and Vikrant Studios, ‘Garuda’ is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2022.
