Kolkata: The state government has declared a holiday on Thursday from August 11. rakhi bandhan festival in Bengal. All government offices and educational institutions in the state will remain closed.
The state government is planning to celebrate this day in a grand manner, for which rakhi distribution camps will be organized by the sports and youth affairs department at various places.

The collegium of AHM secretary Saudipta Das said, “There was confusion over declaring holiday for the festival of Raksha Bandhan as there was no government circular earlier. Some schools were closed, some were open, depending on the authorities. This circular is based on this. Will clear up any kind of confusion.”
