National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C) B.Tech student S. Srilakshmi (3.) thirdsemester), a. Anjana (5th semester) and S. Kanyaparvati (7th Sem) has secured SILA Scholarship established for toppers of Civil Engineering Department at NIT-C for 2022-2023.
They will get ₹50,000 each to achieve top CGPA at the end of their first, second and third year. Rajdeep Das (3.) third semester) and Gompa Naveen (5th semester) will receive ₹20,000 each for securing the second highest CGPA at the end of their first and second year, while R. Harikrishnan (7th semester) th semester) and S Vishnuprasad (7th semester) will receive ₹10,000 each to jointly secure the second highest CGPA at the end of their third year.
A press release here on Wednesday said that the SILA Scholarship for Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) 1967-1972 B.Sc. was established by a distinguished alumnus of Civil Engineering Programme, Sivaramakrishnan S. Iyer, for the students of Department of Civil Engineering, NIT-C. The SILA Scholarship was established in the memory of his parents, Subramonia Iyer and Lakshmi Ammal. An amount of ₹ 40,00,000 was donated to CREC SJET (CREC Silver Jubilee Endowment Trust), the interest of which is being used for disbursement of the scholarship. For 2022-2023, the total scholarship amount was ₹2,10,000.
