actor Anushka Sharma Returning to films after three years (given the pandemic and her maternity leave) to headline the film inspired by the life and times of women’s cricket great fast bowler Jhulan Goswami. Titled Chakda Express, Extremely Mounted Netflix The film traces the illustrious journey of Jhulan, one of the fastest female fast bowlers in the history of world cricket, as she climbs the ladder against countless obstacles to fulfill her only dream: playing cricket.
Anushka has started shooting for Chakda Express, which will be shot India and UK and is being produced by Clean Slate Films. She says, “It feels like my first film again and I am really excited to start this journey with Chakda Express, a film that I truly believe in. Unfortunately the pandemic kept me away from returning to films while I was itching to start filming. immediately. I would have loved to entertain and engage with the fans and audience in advance.”
The actors will fly to the UK to shoot for a 30-day schedule of the cricket film, which marks the massive mounting of the Chakda Express. Anushka has prepared for months to get into the skin of the famous Indian fast bowler.
She adds, “A film of this scale needed tremendous preparation in all departments and we are glad that Chakda Express has debuted in style. Chakda Express is a delightful script that intends to make a strong statement and I am glad to hear about it. Jhulan was successful in her goal and captained the Indian women’s national cricket team and is a role model for aspiring cricketers in the country. In 2018, an Indian postage stamp was issued in his honour. Jhulan holds the world record for most wickets by a woman in an international career.
Anushka says, “It is a fact that women have to go the extra mile to make their place in this patriarchal world. Jhulan Goswami’s life is a testament to the fact that she carved her own destiny and vie for every inch of limelight and recognition. struggled.”
