Apart from the Taj Mahal, there is another Taj which is a wonder in itself.

It is not easy to be alone in India, where we see crowds of people on the streets and in public places. Living alone in the city of Agra is even more difficult. Just a few hours’ journey from Delhi, Agra is often filled with camera-laden tour guides, happy and curious, who head to the famous tomb. However, there is more to the attractions of Agra than the Taj Mahal. Not everyone who comes to the city runs to see the monument. Some prefer to take their daily 9 to 5 break and plan a luxury stay. As a result, the city offers some impressive hotels and resorts that offer you exactly that. The perfect time for me to stay in Agra was at the Taj Hotel and Convention Center.

As soon as I arrived, I checked into the Taj Hotel and Convention Center. A stunning property that sits majestically, within walking distance of the Taj Mahal, the epitome of luxury and style oozes elegance and romance. And yes, you can see the Taj Mahal from its rooftop restaurant, Infini!

The hotel offers several dining options: Palato – All Day Dining; Daawat-e-Nawab – Indian specialty restaurant; and Infini – a roof-top bar and cafe.

Palato

What does pleasure mean to you? For me, it’s about kicking my heels, sipping interesting cocktails, and feasting on some good food. And that’s where it all happens! A casual and jovial vibe is immediately evident in the first look of Palato. The all-day diner is serving Indian, Asian, American and European-inspired cuisine and thus has plenty of options to suit all types of palates. While food has always been associated with comfort, the eatery aims to give it an experimental touch.

As the name suggests, this rooftop restaurant comes with spectacular panoramic views of the city of Agra, and this is where you will find the Taj Mahal sitting stylishly on the banks of the Yamuna River. If the spectacular view isn’t enough to impress you, the lovely live music certainly will. Serving the finest Continental, Italian, North Indiana and Mughlai fare, the culinary experience at Infini does full justice to its name. You must try their juicy and tender Grilled Chicken. Mughlai lovers cannot miss out on their minced meat-filled kebabs and chicken malai tikka. Be sure to also try the delicious Chicken Pizza, Orange Mojito and the delightful Ras Malai.
