Apple iPhones may come with Type-C port in the future. read here

Apple is rumored to be testing a Type-C port for its future phones. Currently, Apple uses the Lightning connector in iPhones. News reports claim it may be related to European regulations. It further claims that even if this is true, the Type-C port could be practical only next year. It’s important to note that Apple stopped shipping power adapters inside iPhones boxes to reduce their carbon footprint.

to assist iPhone the user, Apple MagSafe covers that support wireless charging. Apple is also working on an adapter that will let future iPhones work with accessories designed for the current Lightning connector, according to a Bloomberg news report.

The use of Type-C could mean that Apple users can charge their phones and share data quickly. On top of that, it will also make the port compatible with Android phones that mostly use the Type-C port.

EU law mandates the use of a similar Type-C port in most electronics devices, including phones.

The news broadcaster quoted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who made the predictions, will come with trade-offs — and potentially cause confusion for customers. USB-C chargers tend to be slightly larger than the Lightning connector, but can offer faster charging speeds and data transfer. The new connectors will also be compatible with many existing chargers for non-Apple devices such as Android phones and tablets.
