Apple supplier Foxconn today said it plans to restructure its local management team in Tamil Nadu

Apple supplier Foxconn Technology Group today said it is restructuring its local management team following a recent large-scale food-poisoning incident at the offsite hostel facility of its Sriperumbudur factory in Tamil Nadu.

An Apple spokesperson said Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur facility has been placed on probation.

In a statement today, Foxconn said it will continue to pay all employees while necessary corrections are made before resuming operations. Foxconn said it would continue to provide support for employees once they return to work.

“We are also restructuring our local management team and our management systems to ensure that we can achieve and maintain the high standards required,” the Foxconn Technology Group statement said.

Meanwhile, an Apple spokesperson said Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur facility has been put on probation and the company will ensure that the facility meets the strictest standards before resuming.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely,” an Apple spokesperson said in an email, reported news agency Press Trust of India.
