Miles was taken to the hospital for an appendectomy. While the tumor was removed by doctors, the cancer had already spread to other parts of the 12-year-old’s body, which meant she had to undergo further surgery. According to the report, Miles’ surgery at CS Mott Children’s Hospital was successful and she was recovering at home.
