Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programs have been started by TeamLease EdTech in association with Usha Martin University (Ranchi), Himalayan University (Itanagar), Sikkim Professional University (Gangtok), Mangalayatan University (Aligarh) and Mangalayatan University (Jabalpur).
Students can opt for apprenticeship embedded BA, BSc, BCom and BBA programmes. The classes will be conducted in mixed mode. Students will also be introduced to the world of work, thus making students more employable and job-ready. The programs will enable students to earn (monthly stipend) while learning, which will remove financial constraints that students may face while enrolling in higher education.

As part of the partnership, EdTech has created a structured curriculum for students that will enable them to pursue a bachelor’s degree while receiving on-the-job training through apprenticeship. These programs have been co-created with Sector Skills Councils, where students will receive credit for both classroom and job-training.
“It is encouraging to see that more universities and HEI apprenticeships are coming forward to launch embedded degrees. In fact, a recent survey by us indicates that over 92 percent of Indian universities feel that apprenticeship-linked degrees are more beneficial to students than regular degrees. It is a major advancement in the learning ecosystem as these degrees empower students with quality knowledge, advanced skills and domain competencies; “All provide them an opportunity to earn while studying,” said Shantanu Rouge, CEO and Founder, TeamLease EdTech.
“Apprenticeship plays a vital role in addressing the financial burden in learning that adversely affects the Gross Enrollment Ratio in Indian higher education. We are aiming to partner with several universities during the year for such programmes. “
