Archer Deepika Kumari set to return to India at World Cup Stage 3 in Paris

Star Indian archer Deepika Kumar will make a competitive comeback for India in the World Cup Stage 3 starting in Paris on Tuesday, June 21. This is the first time that Deepika will try to leave behind a disappointing Tokyo Olympics this year. Campaign.

Dipika Kumari would like to start her campaign in the ongoing Olympic cycle in pairs, which is the same tournament where she won the individual gold in 2021. The world No. 3 will be looking for a solid performance at her favorite hunting ground in which she won a silver in a 2013 World Cup final.

Deepika was last seen in action for India in the Yankton World Cup final in September 2021, where she finished fourth.

Deepika and her husband Atanu Das have not been able to make a place in the Indian team consistently. Both of them could not even qualify for the squad for the Asian Games, which were later postponed.

However, the Archery Association of India conducted a new test of the top eight archers for Phase 3 of the World Cup. Dipika and Praveen Jadhav, who were in the top-8 of the trials conducted earlier, got a new chance and made their place.

Das, however, missed out on the top-8 exit in the earlier test.

Dipika cut the cost of Komalika Bari while her Tokyo Olympics mixed teammate Jadhav ousted Sachin Gupta to complete the World Cup Stage 3 lineup.
