Patna: Anu Army Corps was Shot dead by bike riders PatnaThey allegedly protested against the loot bid at Kankerbagh’s Kankerbagh in the early hours of Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Bablu Kumar (34) Son Amarnath Yadav is a resident of Chandpura village of Raghopur in Vaishali district. His family said that Bablu had come to Patna to get his son admitted in the Central School.
The incident took place near an automobile showroom on the old bypass road of Kankerbagh police station area at around 3.30 am when the Army jawan along with his cousin was going to catch a train for Patliputra railway station Guwahati on a bike. Two miscreants on bike chased them and shot Bablu from behind. After the incident, the accused fled towards Chiratand.
Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon said that Army jawan Bablu posted in Guwahati had come to his native city on a leave of 45 days. “On Thursday, he was supposed to travel to Guwahati. He had come to his cousin’s place in Kumhrar on Wednesday evening. Two miscreants chased them and one of the accused opened fire on Bablu. The bullet hit his head and he died on the spot,” the SSP said.
“The motive behind the murder is not yet known. The victim’s body has been sent to PMCH for post-mortem. The statement of the family members of the deceased is yet to be recorded, the police official said.
SHO Ravi Shankar Singh said that Bablu was a resident of Raghopur in Vaishali and has a house in Fatuha. “Police is probing the matter and scanning the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas,” he said.
Bablu’s body was brought to the Danapur Army Office where army officers and jawans paid homage.
