Around 1.2 crore new people added to EPFO ​​payroll in 2021: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the recruitment activity picked up last year compared to the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Referring to the NASSCOM report, PM Modi said that India has created over 27 lakh jobs in the IT sector.

He further said that around 12 million new people joined the EPFO ​​payroll, which shows that there has been an increase in formal sector employment. PM Modi replied to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister said that the number of unicorns produced in the country within a year is equal to the total number of unicorns produced in India.

Talking about the rebound in the economy during the second year of the pandemic, PM Modi said, “We are alone” Economy Given high growth and moderate inflation in the world, bringing it down to 4-5%, compared to double-digit numbers before 2014-2020.

PM Modi further said that the Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has benefited the most from the Atmanirbhar Bharat package, as evidenced by the fact that MSMEs are coming forward to enter the defense sector.

PM Modi said, “MSME was one of the major sectors which have benefited from the Atmanirbhar Bharat package, which has shown great results.”

He further added that India has become one of the leading mobile manufacturers – helping with the PLI scheme.

“Its share in exports is also increasing. The PLI scheme is reaping good benefits in the automobile and battery sector as well,” he said.

He further said that despite all the obstacles during Kovid, we kept working to provide houses to the poor and needy. PM Modi said that during COVID, infrastructure projects were also continued and completed.

“People kept raising questions about India’s progress in this time of pandemic but India ensured that 80 crore citizens get free ration. It was also ensured that record houses are built for the poor, these houses are equipped with water connections,” the PM said. Modi.

He further said that five crore rural households have been provided with clean tap water connections during COVID – a new record.
