The arrest of a road construction company’s employees on charges of extortion and intimidation by the Kadapa police of YS Konda Reddy, a senior YSR Congress Party leader and in-charge of Chakrapeta mandal, created a stir in the district.

On receipt of the complaint, Chakrayapeta police arrested Sri Konda Reddy near Kadapa on Monday and produced him before the designated court at Lakkireddypalle. It was observed that before arresting the YSRCP leader, the Kadapa Police had apprised the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of the complaint against him and the ground reality.
