An official release quoted Khandu as saying that the state government is making a comprehensive plan to empower all villages in the coming years.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has focused on eight pillars for the overall development of villages, which will also prevent migration of rural people to urban areas.

Key sectors include health, education, connectivity, power, livelihood, agriculture, sanitation and water supply.

An official release quoted Khandu as saying that the state government is making a comprehensive plan to empower all villages in the coming years.

“When our villages are strong, then only the country will develop. The identity of Arunachal lies in our villages,” the chief minister said on Wednesday.

Expressing concern over the exodus of people from villages to urban towns and cities, Khandu said that if this continues, the state’s villages will disappear along with the unique cultural identity of Arunachal Pradesh.

He also urged the Gram Panchayat leaders to closely monitor the schemes and programs being implemented in their respective villages and ensure quality and timely completion of work.
