Srinagar: As a delicate ceasefire agreement continues along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, “infiltration season” has begun and Pakistan is attempting to push more hardened and trained terrorists to the Indian side in a new strategy , ThePrint learned.

Sources in the defense and security establishment said terror launch pads across the Line of Control are full, and infiltration attempts are being made from the Jammu side from the Kashmir side.

“The ceasefire has been on since February this year. There have been two cases of ceasefire violations, but they were very local, and (has been) mainly because that side was occupied by a new unit,” said a source, referring to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. .

The source said that earlier infiltration attempts were stopped, two months ago, the Pakistani army had allowed terrorists to enter and attempt infiltration, while also clarifying that they were trying to kill them through ceasefire violations. will not be able to support.

Sources said that now with the approaching winter, the Pakistan Army has given permission to the terrorist groups to make full infiltration attempts.

“There are more and more attempts to infiltrate, but there has been no ceasefire violation. The number of terrorists trying to infiltrate cannot do so without the approval of the Pakistan Army,” a second source told ThePrint.

Focus on arms and ammunition smuggling

Sources said the primary focus of the Pakistan Army is on sending more arms and ammunition than the terrorists themselves. This is the reason that more arms and ammunition have been found with the terrorists trying to infiltrate.

In late September, the army thwarted an infiltration attempt by killing three heavily armed terrorists At Hatmulla in Baramulla district of North Kashmir.

Five AK rifles, eight pistols, two IEDs and 69 grenades were recovered from the three terrorists.

After this, another infiltration attempt in Uri sector was stopped. One of the terrorists killed was someone who appeared to be in his late 30s, while the other was caught alive.

Sources said efforts are being made to ensure that “senior” terrorists, who have previously lived in Kashmir, are sent instead of fresh recruits.

This is mainly because local terror groups in Kashmir have lost their main leadership in the continuous operations of the last few months.

Sources said efforts are being made to ensure that the level of violence rises in the Valley.

As ThePrint reports, a Pakistani terrorist, currently identified as ‘little father’, who had infiltrated into Kashmir from the LoC about 20 days ago, is said to be the mastermind behind the killings of minorities in Srinagar.
